1500-Point Background Checks & 14-Panel Drug Testing
Another major reason you will like Veterans Aide at Home as your non-medical home care provider is because our vetting process for every Caregiver is the most aggressive in the industry; it is second to none! Let’s review two (2) of our major vetting protocols.
1500-Point Background Check
Although background checks are mandatory by the state health department code and regulations, they are not all created equal. We know this from first-hand experience. Our CEO worked previously at TruDiligence, a nationally accredited background check and prescreening company in Lakewood, CO. In fact, we currently use TruDiligence as our primary prescreening company due to their integrity, research methods, fresh data pulls, pricing, etc. TruDiligence utilizes only “source data” that ensures the background checks are accurate, current and relative.
Oftentimes, in an effort to save money, other agencies use questionable research methods that may leave you open to harm. With Veterans Aid at Home, this is not the case. Our background checks include a 1500-point investigation that is best in class. Every caregiver we potentially hire, undergoes the following:
Identity and previous address verification
- National Sex Offender Registry Search
- State and/or County Level Criminal Records for Felony and Misdemeanor Charges
- National Criminal Record Search
- DMV Searches for DWI, DUI, and Relevant Driving-Related Offenses
- Department of Homeland Security Search for Relevant Offenses

14-Panel Drug Testing
Did you know the drug testing of Caregivers is NOT MANDATORY through state health care code and regulations? Again, our CEO gave this a huge ‘NO’ when we first opened in 2013. Here is why: we understand our vulnerable, fragile clientele, and we placed this most aggressive drug testing policy from day one. This simple solution makes applicants (with previous and/or future bad intentions) most likely to move on. In fact, during the interview process, we make it known upfront and crystal clear that if you, the caregiver, have or had any issues with drugs or alcohol, this position is not for you. Our goals are to hire only the best and ‘cleanest’ caregivers in the area. To date and since our inception, we’ve never had to terminate or discipline anyone due to being under the influence of any drug or alcohol. This assures the client and their family that we supply great, clean people within your residence from the very beginning and for the life of our relationship.
